Marion is known for her contemporary approach to wildlife art – she is not afraid to challenge our perceptions and is always looking for unique ways of portraying the wildlife around us. Having worked as a graphic designer for ten years prior to dedicating her time to painting professionally, her work shows unique elements of design that give her pieces a fresh & vibrant feel, and yet they remain true to the natural world.
She travels regularly to seek inspiration and has been on safari in Africa, studied and sketched wildlife in Europe and North America and also spent time teaching art on a cruise liner in the South Pacific, which enabled her to study wildlife not only on the islands, but also under the sea. As well as more exotic locations, she has spent many rewarding hours studying, sketching and painting our own domestic wildlife.
Not content to work with one medium Marion paints in oils, acrylics and watercolours along with silk paintings. During her time as a professional designer Marion developed a love of printing processes that is still present in her work today in her limited edition silkscreen pieces.
Her well-regarded courses in both silk painting and watercolours (often in conjunction with local wildlife trusts) have seen her share her skills & techniques with small & large groups and she is a regular artist in residence at Nature in Art in Gloucestershire.
Marion is always pleased to receive questions about her work – whether prints or requests for original commissions. She is happy to answer any enquires about forthcoming events, courses and exhibitions via the email address on the Contacts page.
